The 1st place award may seem controversial. After consulting my crack team of temp challenge consultants, here are my conclusions, which they did not challenge.

  • Combining air temperature with wind chill, the 1st place award was really not that hard to determine.
  • Oh, yeah . . . Need I remind you that this is MY blog? No, I needn't.

Further comment

Why am I posting a blog at this time of the morning?
  • Somebody who shall remain nameless * brought a dog home from the Siouxland Animal Shelter in Sioux City for me last summer.
  • Somebody ** has to walk the dog first thing in the morning. After all, it's the humane thing to do.
  • I am not bitter. Ask me again in January. Or, considering this is Nebraska, another week or two.
* It was Lois. Rachel was an unindicted co-conspirator. Bentley was an innocent accomplice.
** That would be yours truly. I'm not asking for your pity. ***
*** As a matter of fact, I guess I am.

Bonus feature re:  my dear spouse's condition

As of 7:06 a.m., while I finish this post, Lois seems to be sleeping comfortably. I didn't hear any groaning during the night, so I think she slept OK. I also got up early to make sure there was foo-foo * coffee ready at her beck & call. ** That's just the kind of guy I am. ***
* We all know what kind of coffee that is, if "we" are familiar w/ Hill Sister Bash history.
** Hopefully I can get back from walking Sammy before she wakes up & starts beckoning & calling.
*** Seattle's Best Dark #5 is brewing in the other coffee-maker for me. That's just the kind of guy I am.
