Today's Scripture

 "Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."  2 Peter 1:20-21

Today's Devotional Thoughts

Here's one more passage that gets to the heart of why I look at Holy Scripture as the source of The Truth. I believe [and it's not just me but millions of Bible-believing Christians over the span of thousands of years] that those who wrote the Bible didn't just sit down on a whim & write whatever came to their own minds.

The Holy Spirit inspired them to write, but it went a step farther. The Holy Spirit inspired the actual words they wrote.

We can count on the Bible as the source of God's Truth, because we know it's God's Word,not man's words disguised as God's words. 

Knowing the source of The Truth makes all the difference in the world!

Today's Prayer Thought

Give thanks to the Lord for inspiring the writers of the Bible to write His Truth so that we can know that we are reading God's Truth, not human-derived "truth." Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to open Your mind to believe & grow in Your faith in that Truth.
