TAXES
Good news about our taxes! No estimated payemts to the feds until June. Money back from Nebraska. We are always happy to pay our taxes, because we know the government will make wise use of "their" money. [LOL! Sometimes I crack myself up.]
HAZING
No, I'm not talking about what life was like at St. Paul's High School when I was a freshmen, when upperclassmen could force us to sneak off-campus during lunch to get them food from Creemee Freeze. I'm talking about the haze in our skies over the past few days, which, if you can believe it, is a result of the wildfires in New Mexico. I don't think drought conditions & wildfires are anything to joke about. However, I still believe that it is hubris to think humankind can do anything to counter climate change.
MID-TERMS
All my candidates running in our Nebraska primary won, except for my vote for governor. However, I can live with the winner of the GOP governor's primary. Just so you know.

More Things Elon Musk Should Buy & Fix
* ESPN: Make it about sports again!

* US Congress: Just lunch it into the sun.
* Public schools: And make them stop grooming.
* Texas Roadhouse: Change the whole menu to just the rolls & honey cinnamon butter.

* Frisbees: I throw them straight but they don't go straight! Why do they keep curving?!
* Democratic Party: Make them care about the people they serve rather than just obtaining power.
* Republican Party: Make them care about the people they serve rather than just obtaining power.

WHAT I'M READING
For those of you who are endlessly fascinated by details about my personal life, I'm reading "The History of Iceland," just to prove that I have eclectic reading tastes. Oh, I'm also reading Joe Posnaski's "100 Greatest Baseball Players," because, eclectic.
MY DEVOTION BOOK
My 365-day devotion book is gaining some traction. Copyright issues have been resolved, & next week I'm talking with a marketing consultant. Anything I make off the sale of my book--probably not much--will be donated to Orphan Grain Train.
SPEAKING OF OF OGT
We've been able to get several shipments overseas to provide relief for Ukrainian refugees. Shipping costs are incredibly expense. Visit ogt.com to find out what you can do to help. OGT is working with churches & our community to see if we can help relocate some of these refugees, but the process is very complicated. It would most likely be be women, children, & old men. We ask for your prayers.

* Grumpy Old Men & Their Elucidating Rants
Abortion: Pro-abortion activities are showing their true colors. They are only interested in advancing their cause by violence. Do you think the current DOJ will investigate & prosecute whoever is responsible for the leak of the SCOTUS report? Yeah, I don't think so either. I pray for our Supreme Court--that the judges would be safe & that those who understand the folly of Roe v. Wade will remain true to their convictions.
Gas Prices: Yeah, the war in Ukraine is having an impact, but don't you think Biden's energy policies have played a huge role? Yeah, so do I.
Inflation: Trillion-dollar deficit spending is responsible, not the war in Ukraine. Who is responsible for this irresponsibility? It's Republicans, too.
LGQBT: Those who provide puberty-blocking drugs to children & help them procure gender-reassignment surgery should be stifled.
One More Thing: I don't see why I should have to watch what I eat in order to lose weight.
