BUCKET LIST (AGAIN?!)
The reason I keep adding to my bucket list is because I lost my original list. So I keep remembering items that were on my original list. The latest item I remembered was a Hawaii Inter-Island cruise.
COVID-19
"No singing allowed in NJ? Philly bans all indoor gatherings." Drudge Report COMMENT: What about our religious freedoms?
"Toilet paper shelves again left bare." Ditto
"CA considering statewide curfew." Ditto
WHAT I'M READING
I'm an avid reader, in case you haven't noticed. Besides always having a book to read, I subscribe to two magazines: Reader's Digest [which is where I get most of my jokes] & Nebraska Life. Both great reads.
ROAD TRIPS
Besides our plans for Texas & Minnesota in January, we've added trips to Florida in February & California in March. We hope to add to our National Parks' list during both trips: Everglades, Yosemite, & King's Canyon.
THIS YEAR, HOLIDAYS CALL FOR NEW TRADITIONS, PART I
"Outdoor get-togethers are best. It's a common misunderstanding, Pehrson said, that when you're outside you don't need to socially distance or wear a mask together to help reduce spread. 'None of these measures alone is perfect, they al have weakness, but they also have significant effectiveness,' Pehrson said 'When you layer one on top of the other, it does significantly reduce spread. Six feet apart might not be enough; the virus can be airborne, & we also know even droplets can go much farther than 6 feet.' Outdoor options, if weather permits, are drive-by hellos or driveway waving,' Marcelin said. 'But the safest thing is for people to stay home & celebrate with the people that they live with." Omaha World Herald, 11/16 .
NOTE #1: Pehrson & Marcelin are 2 experts quoted in this article.
NOTE #2: We enjoyed an outdoor Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's house the last Thanksgiving we spent in Hawaii.
THANKSGIVING & LIBERTY
"Thanksgiving 2020 affords an occasion for rational assessment of the liberties Americans enjoy to an unparalleled degree -- liberties that tempt some to steer too hard in one direction. And now free speech comes at the expense of rational conversation about disagreements; economic opportunity presents itself as brainless, soul-deadened materialism. The nurturing of the whole person is the goal of a free society. You might not know it from the modern habit of battering and smashing up people with ideas different from one's own." Bill Murchison, Townhall
THE WIT & WISDOM OF CAL THOMAS
"If I am deficient in my knowledge about chemistry, or a medical issue, or what kind of car to buy, I consult people who know more than I do on these subjects. When it comes to faith, though, I can handle that with a little help from my friends, meaning the writers of the Old and New Testaments, and sermons from trusted pastors who believe in what is written in those books. I don't need a "faith adviser," or "faith leader," which seems to be a trend among modern presidents." Cal Thomas, Townhall
