REWRITING HISTORY

"As the saying goes, “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” That’s why you should be weary of anyone seeking to rewrite history. They’re likely looking to repeat something from it – something bad – and don’t want you to know what’s coming.

"Liberals have spent the last few months wiping clean every piece of history they can. From statues to the very founding of our country, Democrats have declared what was to not have been and what wasn’t to have always been."  Derek Hunter, Townhall, 7/7

A RACIST COUNTRY?

"As I wrote nearly three years ago: "Perhaps the second greatest libel -- and certainly the most widespread -- is that America is a racist country that oppresses its minorities and women. We can call it the American Libel." (The greatest libel was the infamous blood libel, the fabricated charge spread in Europe for hundreds of years by Christian anti-Semites that Jews kill Christian children to use their blood to bake matzos -- unleavened bread -- for Passover.)

"But if America is so racist, why are there so many race hoaxes? Virtually every time we read about a swastika painted on a door, or a noose hanging from a tree to taunt blacks, it turns out to be either a false alarm or, more frequently, a hoax."  Dennis Prager, Townhall, 7/7

CULTURE WAR

"But it is not Trump trashing cops or providing cover for "protests" marked by looting and arson. Nor is it Trump tearing down memorials and monuments to the great Americans of the past. Where the Democratic Party has been a portrait in indecisiveness, Trump has been clear. He stands with the cops who have gone through a hellish six weeks. He stands against defacing statues and destroying monuments. He has denounced the rioting, looting and arson that have accompanied protests the media never cease to describe as "peaceful." . . .

"Trump's stand for tradition and against mob rule is the only stand the president can take. And it is a necessary stand. For this culture war is going to last long after this presidency. And it is going to determine what kind of country we shall become. Will it be the great and glorious republic of the past or the social and cultural Marxist hellhole that is the promise of the mobs?

"Trump just played the patriotism card -- the correct card to play -- and it may just work for his reelection."  Patrick Buchanan, Townhall, 7/7

UNCLE JOE

"I know, the polls were wrong in 2016. In that year a lot of people did not take Trump seriously. Some apparently weren't honest with pollsters. This year Trump's opponents are taking him seriously, to the point of visceral hatred. It is one reason the major media resemble a propaganda arm of the Establishment, reporting nothing good the administration has done and ascribing the basest of motives to him . .

"Joe Biden, for whom enthusiasm is virtually non-existent, gets a free pass from the media. His constant gaffes and inarticulate sentences have caused aides to tightly control his availability to the press and public for fear he will start to resemble someone for whom an Amber alert is issued when grandpa goes missing."  Cal Thomas, Townhall, 7/7

REVOLUTIONARIES

"Puritanical cultural revolutionaries are always a minority of society. But whether they win or lose — that is, whether they end up as Bolsheviks or Jacobins — hinges on how successfully they terrify the masses into submission, and how quickly they can do that before repulsion grows over their absurd violence and silly rhetoric."  Victor Davis Hanson, NRO, 7/8

CORONAVIRUS

"Officials in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Miami-Dade County, Fla., have acknowledged that anti-police protests and riots may have led to increased spread of the coronavirus, according to a Fox News report.

"All three cities have experienced an uptick in coronavirus cases after weeks of protesting sparked by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. Many Democrats and public-health professionals alike had voiced support of the demonstrations, including Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti."  Brittany Bernstein, NRO, 7/8

AMERICA

"My answer is that America itself was an innovation. It was the first nation in the world founded on an idea and a truth. That idea and truth is that God created man to be free. This powerful truth on which our nation was founded and built explains America's outsized achievements.
"The reason why we even know about the bad things that happen in our country is because it is free. Horrors like what happened to George Floyd occur all the time in China. Do the Chinese people know about it?"  Star Parker, Townhall, 7/8

TRUTH

"On his radio program Monday, Rush Limbaugh asked, how is it divisive when one tells the truth? Ah, but therein lies the problem. We live in an era when truth is subjective, if it exists at all. There is no truth, except the "truth" of the Left."  Cal Thomas, Townhall, 7/8
