Fantastic Friday

Travelers + Meteorology + Diet

Choose. Call. Bless. SEND!

From The Lutheran Layman (Phil Johnson): "We have been sent as pilgrim travelers in this world, not permanent residents. In our travels we don't wander aimlessly or without purpose. We have a goal:  the place that our Lord Jesus has prepared for us. Along the way we have a purpose:  to extend God's gracious call 'out of darkness & into His marvelous light' to people we encounter along the way . . . All of us are chosen, called, declared, & sent on a journey to our homes, our jobs, our communities, & our congregations so that we, all together, by the Holy Spirit, might be Bringing Christ to the nations--and the Nations to the Church!"

Why Nomenclature Isn't the Study of Gnomes

"Mineralogy? Study of minerals. Oceanography? Study of oceans. Meteorology? NOT ABOUT METEORS. [Reader's Digest (July 2018)]

On the Lighter Side

"After starting a new diet I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning & as I approached, there in the window were a host of goodies. I felt this was no accident, so I prayed . . . 'Lord, it's up to You. If you want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly in front of the bakery.' And sure enough, on the 8th time around the block, there it was! God is so good!" [From Steward Builders:  A newsletter to help you grow as a steward.]
