Meditation for EASTER SUNDAY

Already Home *

“You have set Your glory above the heavens.” Psalm 8:1

“Therefore we have this firm hope & confidently expect that on the Last Day we shall arise & possess eternal life.”

MY MEDITATION

How can we be so sure that our dearly loved & departed loved ones are with the Lord? How can we be sure that we, too, will be with the Lord sooner than later? It all boils down to the resurrection. Our Savior died on that first Good Friday. Let me repeat that. Jesus Christ, our Savior, died. Praise the Lord! Our Savior broke free from death on that 3rd day & rose in victory over sin, the grave & Satan. We can know & believe that we, too, have conquered sin, Satan, & the grave, because He has come to us by baptism & the Word. We know that because He is risen, we, too, will be with Him in heaven. And there will be a joyous reunion with all who have gone before us. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

A Hymn of Prayer **

"Lord, by the stripes which wounded Thee, from death's dread sting Thy servants free that we may live & sing to Thee. Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

* I am posting a meditation for each day of Holy Week, plus Easter MON; I am also continuing to draw insights from Dr. Martin Luther.
