YESTERDAY
Yesterday we celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. It was pretty low-key. We were in Lincoln. We went to church with our grand-daughters. Then we drove home. Lois & her siblings had a zoom call. They've been doing this on Sunday afternoons. We went to supper at Whiskey Creek.Originally we had planned a trip to the Nebraska Panhandle this week, but we had second thoughts. The state parks are apparently open, but no facilities are available.
RESOLUTIONS REVIEW
- Write a 365-devotion book. It's written, but I've yet to look into having it published.
- Average one road trip per month. This may prove difficult, since we've had to cancel at least two trips. We're hoping to visit Nathan & Laura in the Twin Cities later this month.
- Add to our National Park & bucket list. This also may be difficult to accomplish. I've planned a trip to visit national parks in Colorado & Utah this fall, but it will depend on how things are going with the coronavirus.
- Lose at least 10 lbs. I broke even in May, so I've lost a total of six lbs this year.
- Work out at least 3X per week. Thanks to physical therapy & some walking on my own, this has been going better.
- No politics in my Mental Health Monday blogs. I am accomplishing this.
- Receive a DNA report from Ancestry.com. No progress made.
- Cut back on coffee. I regressed a little last week. Now that I'm back at work, it's more of a challenge, since there's almost always coffee available in the break room.
WHAT WE'RE WATCHING
We've been mostly watching Midsomer Murders & Call the Midwife, but it won't be long before we run out of episodes. Any suggestions?
CIVIL UNREST
Protests & riots have replace the coronavirus as the #1 news story. What happened in Minneapolis was an obvious injustice, & peaceful protests are certainly appropriate. Lincoln is under an 8:00 p.m. curfew. We noticed some signs on the way to & from church yesterday: mostly graffiti, one looted convenience store, & one business with a window boarded up. Nathan & Laura are several miles away from the closest issues in the Twin Cities. I've read conflicting reports about outside agitators being responsible for much of the issues, mainly antifa groups. My heart goes out to the family, but my heart also goes out to the police who must deal with the civil unrest.
