I'll Try to Keep This Simple

Why HC Lost . . . A Friday BL.A.H.*g

* Bloggers Against Hypocrisy

It's been almost a month since the election, and HC voters are still having a hard time accepting the results of the election. I had a feeling that DT was going to win, but let me remind you what I posted following the election. I was relieved that HC lost, while I did not rejoice over who won. But I digress.
Why did HC lose? Let me give you my post-election analysis, based on a careful reading of news, punditry, & my own carefully, unbiased scrutiny.

1. Rural Americans who voted for DT . . . Wait . . . ANY Americans who voted for DT are so stupid . . . fools . . . didn't do the math . . . are ignorant.
SOURCE:  "Enjoying Hollywood's Doomsaying," by Brent Bozell & Tim Graham. mrc/Newsbusters (11/11) via Drudge Report (11/26).
"Saturday Night Live cast member Taran Killam exemplified the entertainment elites on Twitter: 'Rural = so stupid.]" . . . "Director Judd Apatow yelled at no Trump Voter in particular: 'You just elected the swamp! You gave the swamp total control. You are a fool. You didn't do the math. Putin celebrates your ignorance.'"

1A. They were smart enough to figure out that celebrities' opinions about politics are comparable to the ingredients found on most produce medley ingredient lists found in the frozen food section at Hy-Vee.

2. Russians undermined the election process.
SOURCE:  "Election filled with Russian propaganda, experts say." From The Washington Post via Omaha World Herald (11/25). "Researchers find online teams tried to undermine faith in U.S. government. The flood of fake news this election season got support from a sophisticated Russian propaganda campaign that created & spread misleading articles online w/the goal of punishing Democrat HC, helping Republican DT & undermining faith in American democracy, say independent research who tracked the operation . . . '

2A. Hey! Check out this cleverly reworded news release from the Cornhusker State Blog.

"Election filled with Mainstream Media propaganda & manipulation, blogger says. The Cornhusker blogger's crack team of relentlessly independent researchers found that the Mainstream Media used a flood of fake news & manipulative operations this election season. This semi-sophisticated campaign--which even stupid, foolish, math-challenged, ignorant DT supporters were able to discern, created & spread misleading articles, fed questions to HC prior to debates, gave HC editorial supervision of "news" articles, & ignored legitimate stories that illustrated the corrupt nature & legacy of the "House of Clinton" with the goal of punishing Republican DT, helping Democrat HC, & ultimately undermine what little faith is left in the mainstream "news" media."

3. The Electoral College is a Jurassic-Era relic, handing DT an early Christmas present while denying the winner of the popular vote the coronation she deserved.

3A. Here's another perspective or two, not necessarily original on my part.
  • It's been pointed out that DT concentrated on key states, such as Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc. It's also been pointed out that HC did NOT spend the time & energy needed to court the voters in these key states. A little more enthusiasm on her part in these states could have flipped them.
  • If a popular vote was at stake, DT could have invested more time & effort in states like California & New York. It wouldn't have affected the electoral vote, but it might have gained him more of the popular vote.
  • HC & her minions were overly confident in some of the aforementioned states, so they were neglected.
  • Our Founding Fathers [I know, I know . . . dead, white, slave-owning men of European descent.] foresaw a way to protect the "minority" from a tyranny of the majority, i.e., "How can we make sure that New York & California don't get to decide who's POTUS?"
4. Back to the issue of fake news.
SOURCE:  "How to combat fake news." Also from the OWH, column by Leonard Pitts, Jr.(11/27). "There is good news on fake news. As you doubtless know, the proliferation thereof has people fretting. President B. Obama has dubbed it a threat to democracy. And there is a rising demand for social media outlets such as Facebook & Twitter, often used as a platforms for these viral untruths, to take corrective action.
"But the good news is that anyone who wishes to avoid fake news can do so easily. There is, in fact, a news platform that specializes in gathering & disseminating factual news. So committed are its people to this mission that some have been known to risk, & even to lose, their lives in the process. Granted, this platform is imperfect--sometimes it is guilty of error or even bias. But hardly ever will you find it trafficking in intentional falsehoods.
"So what, you ask, is this miracle medium? Well, it's called a 'newspaper.' Maybe you've heard of it . . . "

4A. I, too, was appalled by the issue of fake news leading up to & continuing after the election. Mr. Pitts is correct to note that newspapers are committed to "gathering & disseminating factual news" . . . admittedly sometimes guilty of "error or even bias." Most of my readers know that I am a hardcore newspaper junkie. We subscribe to & read two daily newspapers. When we/I are on the road, we relish the opportunity to pick up local newspapers, including those available at hotels. [We even read USA Today! *] So when Mr. Pitts claims that "hardly ever will you find (them) trafficking in intentional falsehoods," I can--excuse me a second; I just threw up a little in my mouth--I understand exactly where he's coming from. * If it's the only free newspaper available at our hotel.
In the spirit of reinforcing how harmful fake news influenced the election, I've chosen some fake news stories that obviously contributed to HC's defeat at the hands of the onerous DT.
  • BC's tawdry history of well-documented sexual mistreatment of women, coupled w/HC's enabling behavior of it.
  • Her well-known support of infanticide via support for abortion at any stage of unborn life prior to birth.
  • Her use of private servers to store easily hacked emails related to national security, plus perjuring herself to Congress about it.
  • The FBI's complicity in protecting her from indictment.
  • Her complicity in lying to family members whose loved ones were murdered in Benghazi.
  • Her exaggerations of accomplishments while serving as a senator & Secretary of State.
Finally, there's this exclusive news story uncovered by my crack team of blog researchers & consultants. Fake news? You be the judge. If true, it definitely influenced the vote in my home state of Nebraska.

IGNORANT RURAL VOTERS SWAYED BY TRUMP PROMISE IN TINY NEBRASKA MUNICIPALITY

"While little noticed at the time, a promise made by President-elect DT in the tiny Nebraska municipality of Monowi back in August may have unduly influenced the 'stupid, foolish, math-challenged, & ignorant' voters of this largely rural state to cast their votes for a sexist, racially-biased candidate, stealing the election from probably the most qualified presidential candidate in the history of the United States.
"During a campaign stop in Monowi, NE, the only incorporated city with a population of one resident in the country, DT promised to "build a wall around the Cornhusker State to keep out Bill Clinton." Nebraskans apparently took this promise to heart, turned out on Nov. 8, in record-breaking numbers, & cast their votes for the golden-haired, boy wonder, who know doubt reminded them of their own quixotic populist presidential candidate of years-gone-by, William Jennings Bryan."
