"If you can sit quietly after difficult news; if in financial downturns you remain perfectly calm; if you can see your neighbors travel to fantastic places without a twinge of jealousy; if you can eat happily whatever is put on your plate; if you can fall asleep after a day of running around without a drink or a pill; if you can always find contentment just wherever you are--you are probably a dog."

Humility
We probably need to appreciate again what we have to be grateful for, what we ought to be good stewards of, and re-acclimate ourselves to history and reintroduce ourselves to one another with a little humility. --Kathryn Jean Lopez, National Review Online, 8/5White Nationalism
It’s time to declare war on white-nationalist terrorism. It’s time to be as wide awake about the dangers of online racist radicalization as we are about online jihadist inspiration. And it’s time to reject the public language and rhetoric that excites and inspires racist radicals. Just as we demanded from our Muslim allies a legal and cultural response to the hate in their midst, we should demand a legal and cultural response to the terrorists from our own land . . .And that does not mean surrendering a single rational, good-faith argument about proper levels of immigration. We can and should view each and every immigrant as a person created in the image of God, but that does not mean that each and every person should be entitled to enter this country. It’s worth saying 10,000 times: Fighting for your political values does not ever require you to abandon decency and respect. In fact, given the magnitude of the issues at stake, decency is even more urgent. It helps keep emotions under control. --David French, NRO, 8/5
Freedom
Unlike the campus rebels of the ’60s, today’s student activists don’t want more freedom to act, speak, and think as they please. Usually they want less. --Jay Nordlinger, NRO 8/5Obama's Legacy
The Democrats’ migration to the left is not merely a story of ideological or intellectual transformation, though it is that; it’s also the direct consequence of Obama’s presidency. --Jonah Goldberg, NRO 8/5A Vision
So, my vision for a God-honoring, largely Christian America has nothing to do with color or race. As such, it is the opposite of a white nationalist vision. In short, as a Caucasian follower of Jesus, I would have rather live in a God-honoring America that was 90 percent black or Asian or Latino than in a God-mocking nation that was 90 percent white. In a heartbeat! --Michael Brown, Townhall, 8/5
