Space Folly + Political Potpourri

Omaha World Herald (6/28): "Craft's mission: Blast an asteroid. Japanese space explorer will try to get samples that could shed light on origin of our solar system." Political Potpourri
I voted fo DT with reluctance. His character displayed many flaws. His bombastic style was a turnoff. But I voted for him anyway. Why?
- With a Republican president there is always hope for pro-life action. This is NEVER true of Democratic candidates.
- Vote for HC & all the corruption that follows the Clintons? I think not.
- With a Republican president there is always hope for conservative constitutionalists to be appointed judges, particularly to the SCOTUS. [This last point seems to be bearing fruit.]
Omaha World Herald, column by the late Charles Krauthammer (6/24): "Liberals believe that human nature is fundamentally good. The fact that this is contradicted by, oh, 4,000 years of human history simply tells them how urgent is the need for their next seven-point program for the social reform of everything.
"Liberals suffer incurably from naivete, the stupidity of the good heart. Who else but that oracle of American liberalism, the New York Times, could run the puzzled headline: 'Crime Keeps on Falling, but Prisons Keep on Filling." But? How about this wild theory: If you lock up the criminals, crime declines."
Tagline from Drudge Report (7/3): "Iranian General accuses Israel of stealing clouds . . ."
[I didn't bother to read the article.]
Ditto (7/3): "WALMART takes heat as it removes 'Impeach 45' shirts . . . " COMMENT: Maybe because I'm not the only one who has decided to reserve my shopping for Hy-Vee?
Criminal Minds
Tagline from Drudge Report (6/29): "Woman drove 19 miles w/ex-boyfriend clinging to car's hood . . . " [I didn't bother to read the article.]
Wit & Wisdom of Cal Thomas *

"President Trump is appointing conservative judges to federal courts & has released a list of names to choose from should another vacancy occur on the Supreme Court. All appear to be conservative constitutionalists. Yes, his form could be better, but the substance is very good. Imagine what he could do if congressional Republicans got behind him. So, even if you are not particularly enamored by the president's style (& many continue to be), give him some credit. (From "Can haters of Trump be thankful?", column in NDN 12/26/17)
