BL.A.H. BL.A.H. BL.A.H. *
This is a special THU edition of my whimsical WED blog. I feel compelled to spend a "little" time & energy commenting on our presidential race, since we're down to less than 3 weeks until what could be--according to some pundits--the most consequential election since, well, since Pontius Pilate was appointed procurator of Judea.Wait . . . that's a misinterpretation. Being "appointed" & being "elected" are technically two different things.
What did I think about last night's debate in Las Vegas? First of all, I have never been more appalled by anything else I've seen on television up until now.
Wait . . . that's a lie. Pretty much any time I've ever spent watching Bill Maher, which only happens when I'm channel surfing, I've only been able to watch & listen for no longer than 8 minutes before I throw up a little in my mouth & have to keep surfing.
So let me rephrase . . . Last night's debate was unwatchable but not as appalling as Bill Maher.
Wait . . . I better clarify. Technically, I didn't watch last night's debate. I read about it in my favorite partisan pundit's column this morning. [SEE "Trump's Best Debate So Far...And His Worst," which I read via Drudge on 10/20, posted on NRO, 10/19, 11:56p.]
In my efforts to be "fair & balanced," I also read about I read the debate in an article found in the Lincoln Journal Star (10/20), entitled, "Trump won't commit to accepting results."
Wait . . . that's another lie. I'm not putting all that much time & effort into being fair & balanced.
Apparently Chris Wallace, a Fox News operative, asked "She-Who-Should-Have-Been-Indicted-By-Now" about email leaks that pretty much document "pay-for-play" transactions between donors to the Clinton Foundation & the SOS. First she gave an evasive answer, then refused to comment any further.
Apparently "He-Whom-I-Have-Not-Endorsed" asked if he would accept the results of the election under any circumstances. He said that he would NOT . . . to which SWSHVIBYN responded, "That's horrifying."
That's horrifying? Seriously?! More horrifying than electing somebody who:
- Hasn't hesitated to let her fanatics go after DT for both real & alleged comments & behavior that prove his wretchedness toward women, while the media has conveniently "forgotten" how she has enabled her spouse's documented sexual deviancy before he was POTUS, while he was POTUS, & since he was POTUS?
- Will certainly do her best to advance the cause of killing unborn children that even our current POTUS has done?
- Has promised to appoint Supreme Court justices who will advance her party's agenda, regardless of their sworn duty to the Constitution & Bill of Rights?
- Is part of a political party that has actively colluded w/powerful & influential media sources to "rig" both the primary & now the general election processes?
- Has contributed to the horrifying deaths of U.S.personnel in foreign countries, then lied to their survivors about it?
- Has also contributed to the rise of ISIS & increasing global power of both Russia & Iran?
- Has enriched herself by delivering speeches to the same countries & big corporations that she has--out of the other side of her mouth--spoken critically of?
- Has fostered the notion that her opponent & his deplorable followers are haters while expressing the same hatred that she supposedly deplores in them?
- Has consistently proven to be a liar to Congress & the American people about a host of issues?
- I have NEVER endorsed HWIHNE. I don't think he's a genuine conservative. I can't abide his moral behavior. I don't trust him.
- I won't tell you who I'm voting for either . . . except to say that I am 100% in the #NeverHillary camp.
* BLoggers Against Hypocrisy
Special THU Edition of Political Whimsy
From Lincoln Journal Star--column by Cal Thomas (10/18): "Corruption & collusion. Today's 'journalists' will disagree, but as numerous surveys have shown, the public trust in what is collectively called the media has sunk to an all-time low. Only the media think they don't have to change & can continue to sell a product more & more people refuse to buy."WikiLeaks dumps of Clinton campaign emails w/reporters should contain enough proof for any reasonable person that big media is in the tank for her . . . " [I would submit that "any reasonable person" could have reached this conclusion well before these WikiLeak dumps. * ]
* Not that this will make a shred of difference to the many HC fanatics who would vote for her even if the next batch of WikiLeaks revealed that she accompanied M.O. & her daughter to that infamous Beyonce' concert, got on stage, & joined her in a provocative dance.]
From LJS (10/19): "Obama slams Trump's claims of rigged election as 'whining'. President Obama lashed out at DT TUE, saying that the Republican nominee's insistence that the election was being rigged undermines the country's democratic traditions & demonstrates that he is not fit for the White House . . . " [Said the POTUS who has undermined the country's democratic traditions w/executive orders that our conservative Republican congressmen have done little to hinder other than wring their hands & blubber about. * ]
* Not that I'm bitter.
Ditto LJS--column by Garrison Keillor: "Good luck in Nebraska. This election is winding down, thank heaven, & barring a bombshell backstage video in which HC is heard talking about how she loves to stroll into a men's room & let out a whoop & yank the waistbands of men at the urinals & yell 'Snuggies!' the outcome is in sight, & finally we'll be done w/Nate Silver & Politico & RealClearPolitics & the ranting & raving on YouTube & the borderline psycho posts on Facebook by people we wish we weren't related to, & we can get back to real life.
"The bitterness of it has been exhausting. The 'issues' were piffle...there was zero illumination, the election was all about hostility. The ugly billionaire nitwit vs. the Babylonian anti-Christ. The Trumpets stuck w/him despite his hopelessness because his candidacy gave The New York Times fits, & the Hillareans stuck w/her because the alternative was him . . .
"He should pick up his traps & move to Nebraska...There are wonderful warmhearted people there who love & admire him, so he would fit right in. Look at Broken Bow, * a town of 4,000 on Hwy 2 in Custer County. He could get a nice 3BR there for $150K. There's a municipal airport, a hospital. The restaurants are good if you like beef. You can play golf from May-Sep & after that you can use a fluorescent organge ball & play in the snow. He'd be far away from the New York Times. He could make Broken Bow great, put marble floors & walls in the public school, put up a marble statue of George Armstrong Custer. He could attend a good evangelical church every SUN & go to Bible reading WED night where maybe he can learn more about those two Corinthians. He'd need to be careful about touching women suddenly without permission though because many of them are armed. If he grabbed one down there, she might cut him a new button hole. Even if she were a Christian." [I'll be anxiously waiting the delightfully non-partisan GK's next column, spoofing SWSHBIBN.]
* Lois & I have stayed in Broken Bow, eaten at some wonderful restaurants in Broken Bow, & read some illuminating historical markers in & around Broken Bow. I think that I can speak definitely about Broken Bow.
