PROGRESS REPORT

It was a week ago that I tested positive for Influenza A & a non-COVID coronavirus. Soon, Lois started experiencing the same symptoms:  fatigue, achiness & a serious cough. [She also ran a fever for a couple of days.] Although I hesitate to report, since I don't want to jinx it, our coughs seem to be a little better. I made it to work for about an hour on THU but stayed home again yesterday. We're both still pretty tired. It's pretty unusual for both of us to be sick at the same time. Anyway, thanks for asking.

RESOLUTIONS REVIEW

How am I doing with my 2022 New Years resolutions? Here goes.

> Lose at least 12 lbs. A. I thought averaging 1 lb/month was doable. I lost 6 lbs in MAR. [No appetite during flu siege seems to help.]

> Cross 2 things off our bucket list. B. We visited Dry Tortugas NP in FEB. It's only APR.

> Have fruits & vegetables at least 4X/week. A.

> Walk at least 4X/week. D.

> Publish my 365-day devotion book. C. I finally successfully submitted by book & supporting materials electronically to Westbo Publishers. I just got an email acknowledging the receipt. However, it seems as if I've included too much copyrighted material. [I quote liberally from the NIV.] I have to obtain written permission from the publisher. I'm getting a little discouraged.

> Write & publish another 365-day devotion book. A. I'm into MAY.

AVERAGE:  B

WHAT I'M READING

I finished reading "Oh, Florida:  How America's Weirdest State Influences the Rest of the Country," by Craig Pittman, an actual hardcover book that I borrowed from my sister-in-law when we were visiting St. Petersburg in FEB. I'm continuing to read "Japan 1941:  Countdown to Infamy," by Eri Hotta on Kindle. And now I've started reading "Blood on the Moon:  The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln," by Edward Steers Jr., another hardcover book which I picked up at the Ft. Jefferson Visitors Center at Dry Tortugas NP. [I'll let you know how it turns out.]

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

We are currently binge-watching "Downton Abbey." SPOILER ALERT:  It's an upscale British soap opera which does not feature any gun fights or car chases. Also, you might be too heavily invested in a series when a main character dies & you threaten to stop watching.

WHAT WE'RE EATING

We've been treating ourselves to EveryPlate 3X week. It's a service that delivers ingredients to your door, & you get to put them together & cook. I've been gaining expertise as Lois' sous chef. Tonight we're having Tunisian Spiced Turkey Bowls.
