MIGRATIONS

I traveled to Hastings, NE, for a Lutheran Laymen's League/Lutheran Hour Ministries Convention on FRI. [I was representing Orphan Grain Train.] I saw a few sandhill cranes after I turned off I-80 toward Hastings. Nebraska is home to the largest migration of sandhill cranes in the world, as they work their way north, mostly in March. We're talking about ten-thousands or more birds. It's an awesome sight! We also see a lot of flocks of geese this time of year. In Hawaii we witnessed humpback whales on their migration route to Alaska. Just thought you'd like to know.

COVID

Last WED Lois & I received our 2nd Pfizer vaccination without any side effects. We were very grateful, considering others we know who have suffered pretty frustrating symptoms following their shots. Supposedly in 2 weeks we are considered "safe." When I was at the Holiday Inn Express in Hastings, we were still required to wear face masks in public areas. Lois was in the Haymarket area of Lincoln on SAT. [Our grand-daughter Brianna was having prom pictures taken down there.] She said that there were quite a few people around, & maybe only 1/3 of them were wearing masks. Now that our mask-mandate in Norfolk has ended, hardly anyone is wearing masks at church anymore. We're even having breakfast at church after our Easter sunrise service! There are still some stores, like Hy-Vee & Wal-mart, that are either strongly recommending masks or requiring them.
